Philip Z. Kimball, our resident lawyer, will be presenting a workshop on Intellectual Propery (Trademark & Copyright) law as it applies to creative freelancers & small business.
This workshop is intended for those that work with media and technology (entrepreneurs/independent contractors/employees) as artists, web/software developers, and designers and will provide a clear and useful background on the different realms of “intellectual property” and how it applies to your creations.
Participants will learn how to:
- Protect your intellectual property assets from illegal uses
- Avoid misusing others’ IP in daily work
Workshop Hours:
7:30pm-9pm
What you should bring:
A way to take notes (seating & desk space provided)
Enthusiasm & Creativity
There will be a Q&A session after the workshop to help answer your questions. It’s great that we’ve got Phil on-site to help us sort through these types of issues as our members run into them, and it’s even better that he’s offered to hang out for a bit and provide basic legal advice for our workshop participants.
